CATEGORIES
Two categories of chili will be judged. If you are entering both categories, all ingredients in each category must be prepared separately and a different cooking vessel is required for each category entered.
- NO-BEANS -
This is defined as any kind of meat or combination of meats cooked with chili peppers, pre-cooked, or canned tomatoes, various spices, and other ingredients. Ingredients such as beans or pastas are expressly forbidden.
- EXOTIC ANYTHING GOES - This may consist of ANY meats, chili peppers, pre-cooked or canned tomatoes, various spices, and other ingredients, such as any variety of beans
Chili Teams are still being accepted for a waiting list. If we can get 16 or more additional teams we'll shut down Strand for more teams.

PUBLIC SAMPLING
Teams are required to cook a minimum of four (4) gallons of chili, but we encourage you to cook more (finished volume). Any chili prepared in advance must be for public tasting only and must be marked as non-competition. Please note that this event will draw up to 1,000 or more spectators who will want to taste your chili for the People's Choice Award, so be prepared with a sufficient supply. Please only fill the tasting kit cups.
WASHERS
- Double elimination first to 15 wins
- Two people per team
- Boxes are 20 feet apart
- Player must remain behind box during toss
- Scoring: on box= one point: In cup=3 points
- Leaners or washer that land on top of box do not count as extra points
- 1st place receives trophy
